Accessibility statement

Crowdprobe GmbH wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification, speech input or keyboard-only navigation. This statement explains what we aim for, what we have done, and where we currently fall short.

This statement is a voluntary commitment. It does not constitute a declaration of legal conformity and we do not claim any certification; we are not aware of a legal obligation that applies to this website, but we follow recognised accessibility standards because we think it is the right thing to do.

A. Conformance target

We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to the corresponding European standard EN 301 549, which is the technical standard referenced by the German Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG). "Level AA" is a mid-range conformance level: it covers, among other things, colour contrast, keyboard operability, clear structure and compatibility with assistive technologies.

B. What we did

• Keyboard access. Every page, including the home page's interactive card deck, can be operated with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page, and every interactive element shows a visible focus outline.
• Simple view. The home page offers a "Simple view" switch that replaces the card deck with a plain, normally scrolling page with no animation. It is available at any screen size and the choice is remembered for your next visit.
• Reduced motion. If your system is set to reduce motion, card transitions and decorative animations are turned off automatically. Simple view turns them off as well.
• Colour contrast. Text, controls and their focus indicators meet WCAG AA contrast ratios in both the light and the dark colour scheme.
• Structure and alternatives. Headings are structured hierarchically, images and icons carry appropriate text alternatives, and the diagrams on the home page have a title and a description read out by screen readers.
• No third-party content. This website loads no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers or embeds, so assistive technologies are not affected by content we do not control.
• Testing. We test with automated tooling (axe-core) and manually with keyboard-only navigation, in both colour schemes and at narrow viewport widths.

C. Known limitations

We try to be transparent about where the site does not yet fully meet our own target:

• The infographics on the home page are complex diagrams. We describe them with a text title and a longer description for screen readers rather than exposing every label as a separate data point; if you need the underlying information in another form, please contact us.
• The card deck on the home page is an enhanced presentation of the same content as Simple view. We believe it is fully operable by keyboard and screen reader, but if you find it easier to use the plain page, Simple view is always one click or keypress away.
• Every change is tested automatically in the Chromium, Firefox and WebKit (Safari) browser engines, on desktop and phone screen sizes. Screen readers and other assistive technologies are not tested automatically, so we have not verified every combination of browser and assistive technology.
